Student access requires an institutional subscription; you cannot buy an individual subscription. You can use the form below to tell us that you would like TAU at your university. Expressing interest does not provide access or create a subscription.

Students covered by an institutional subscription can use TAU at no cost to them. The subscription includes unlimited use and manuscript checks.

Personal demos are for university staff considering TAU for their institution. Student access is provided through an institutional subscription.

Use Create New in the TAU Format add-in with your institution’s approved Word template. TAU creates a document with the required sections, styles and page numbering in place, ready for you to begin writing.

Apply Template brings the content of an existing Word draft into a new document formatted to your university’s template. Your original document stays intact. Review the assembled manuscript and the omitted-content report before continuing.

TAU uses the formatting and accessibility requirements built into your institution’s approved Word template. Different degrees, schools or programs may have different requirements. Ask your graduate school or submission office which template applies to your manuscript.

Revise helps you add or repair manuscript sections, update doctoral committee details, and review figures and tables. It keeps these tasks together as your manuscript develops, including checks of captions, numbering and accessibility information.

TAU applies formatting and checks supported requirements in Word. Review & Fix lets you review findings and use available corrections. Some issues need changes you make yourself. Checks do not cover every aspect of a manuscript, and findings can be mistaken.

Run Review & Fix throughout writing, including after revisions and before submission. You start each review; TAU does not continuously check as you type. You can run as many checks as you need under your institution’s subscription.

TAU’s Word checks include whether figures have descriptions and tables have header rows, with guidance for preparing a PDF. This helps you address accessibility issues during writing. The final manuscript and PDF still need human review.

Use Save PDF in TAU to run a final report and update the document’s title and author properties. Then export the manuscript using Word’s export options. Review the resulting PDF against your institution’s requirements before submission. Export settings alone do not establish accessibility.

Start with your institution’s approved TAU-enabled LaTeX template, which includes the TAU Format package. Follow the supplied setup instructions to begin a manuscript using the required structure, formatting, and supported compilation settings.

Yes. For now, manually transfer content from your existing manuscript into the corresponding sections of your institution’s TAU-enabled LaTeX template. Follow the template’s structure and instructions, adapting your LaTeX code where needed. Compile and review the resulting manuscript, PDF, and TAU findings.

TAU applies formatting and checks supported formatting and accessibility requirements configured for your institution in the supplied template and package. Requirements may differ by degree, school, or program. Confirm which template and version apply to your manuscript. Your institution’s published requirements remain the authority.

Yes. Edit your manuscript and its details using the files, commands, and guidance supplied with the template. Recompile and review TAU’s findings after making changes.

No. The template applies its configured formatting, while TAU checks supported requirements and reports findings. Review those findings and make any necessary changes. Check coverage depends on the template and package version and the supported compilation setup. Automated checks may miss or misidentify issues and do not replace human review.

TAU’s checks run automatically as part of the compilation workflow supplied with your template. Compile regularly throughout writing, after significant revisions, and before submission. Follow the supplied instructions to view the report, and review any requirements that could not be checked. Unlimited TAU checking is included under your institution’s subscription, so you can run as many checks as you need. Any separate compilation limits imposed by your LaTeX hosting platform still apply.

Yes. The template and TAU package provide supported accessibility features, checks, and guidance. Follow the supplied instructions when preparing your content and generating the PDF. Some accessibility requirements depend on author input and human judgment, so the manuscript and final PDF still need review.

Follow the PDF preparation instructions and compilation settings supplied with your institution’s template. Review the latest TAU report and the resulting PDF against university requirements, including accessibility. A successful compilation or a report with no detected issues does not guarantee compliance or accessibility.

TAU’s formatting, checks and corrections happen within your writing environment, without sending manuscript content to TAU’s servers. Your storage and sharing choices, and the services you use with your writing environment, have their own handling of your documents.

Read the requirement and review your manuscript before making changes. If you are confident the requirement is met, you can leave the document as it is and move to the next finding. Ask your university’s submission office if you need help interpreting its rules.
